OEAB AD 2.22 FLIGHT PROCEDURES
|
2.22.11 URBAN VFR ROUTES (UVRs) WITHIN Abha TMA (UVRs)
|
Note:
The following procedures are supplementary to procedures published in ENR 1.2 Visual Flight Rules.
Abha UVR originates at the designated VFR reporting points (VRP) and connects with Riyadh UVRs
• Route adherence and complaint:
-
UVRs are bidirectional.
-
VFR flights operating on UVRs must adhere to the defined path and designated VRPs.
-
UVRs are subject to modification either upon pilot’s request or as instructed by ATC.
• Altitudes:
The maximum UVR altitude within Abha TMA part 1 is 500 ft AGL, and Abha TMA part 2 is 1500 ft AGL. Any request for higher altitude is subject to ATC approval.
• ATC Clearance:
-
VFR flights on UVRs are subject to ATC clearance, while within controlled airspace.

VFR flights shall obtain ATC clearance before leaving UVR to enter Abha CTR.
-
VFR flights intending to operate at an altitude higher than the maximum UVR altitude are subject to ATC clearance.
• Pilot Responsibility:
-
Pilots are required to obtain ATC clearance to operate within controlled airspace.
-
It is the responsibility of the pilot in command to monitor other traffic, whether approaching from the opposite or same direction, along the UVRs.
-
Pilots shall remain vigilant to see and avoid other aircraft.
-
UVRs are recommended routes, and pilots are responsible for seeing and avoiding terrain and obstacles.
-
Pilots must maintain a listening watch on the assigned radio frequency
-
Flights utilizing the UVR flying Southbound must contact Abha Approach prior to SABAH.
